Optical Materials Express · 16, 2769 · online 30 July

Summary

Can a spatially extended photonic lattice support spin-controlled lasing?

Patterns a GaAs/InGaAs microcavity and combines polarization-resolved measurements with modal and rate-equation models.

Reports pump-controlled handedness and coherence over multiple lattice cells as the system enters photon lasing.

Commentary

The pump is optical; a transition out of strong coupling must not be conflated with polariton condensation.

Brings together periodic geometry, active layers and polarization control—the central ingredients of the original research.
