This Christmas, I decided to treat myself to a Claude Code subscription and ended up building a 120,000-line app over the holidays. What started as a “small experiment” turned into the most productive—and joyful—coding experience I’ve ever had.
Part I: The Gift That Kept on Taking (My Money)
‘Twas the season of giving, I treated myself, To a Claude Code subscription, unwrapped off the shelf. “Just a small experiment,” I said with a grin, A modest little purchase—what harm could be in?
But twenty minutes later, I hit the first wall, My credits depleted—wait, that’s really all? I upgraded quickly, kept building with glee, Three hours flew by… and I hit limit three.
“Fine then,” I muttered, and reached for the max, The biggest plan offered—no holding me back. Now five agents humming, all working in sync, One building the frontend while others would think.
I sipped my cocoa and watched them create, “This is fine,” I told myself. “This is great.”
Part II: The Unstoppable Build
The agents kept building through day and through night, While I went to parties in festive delight. A commit in the morning, some carols by noon, Then back to see progress—a glorious boon.
I kept waiting for limits, for walls, for a cap, Some technical ceiling, some rate-limit trap. But the lines kept on growing: ten thousand, then more, Fifty, then eighty—I’d lost track of the score.
Two weeks came and went with their holiday cheer, And there sat my app: a hundred-twenty-K, clear. No crunch and no burnout, no sleepless nights spent, Just steady creation wherever I went.
I looked for the limits—they hadn’t appeared, This AI-powered Christmas was better than weird.
Part III: Still Going Strong
I stared at the screen in disbelief, A hundred-twenty-K—beyond all belief. “Where’s the catch?” I kept asking. “The wall? The end?” But nothing arrived. The code kept its trend.
Then doubt became wonder, wonder turned bright, If there are no limits… what else could I write? The fear of “too hard” just melted away, Replaced by excitement to build every day.
There is no limit. That truth hit me deep. No mountain too tall, no vision too steep. Whatever we dream, whatever we see— We can build it. For real. Just Claude and me.
So here is the truth of my holiday spree: Claude Code wasn’t just a gift—it set something free. The joy of creation, no friction, no fight,
Merry Christmas to all—I’ve got more code to write. 🎁💻
